This fabulous pendant has so many things going for it. First off this is a solid opal which is much more desirable and valuable than the doublets and triplets that most opal jewelry on the market today is made of. It is also fully faceted rather than cabochon cut which is quite rare for opals and gives them a very unique look compared to their more common cabochon cut counterparts. There is also significantly more labour put into a fully faceted opal compared to a cabochon cut. The opal in this pendant displays excellent fire and flash with a dazzling range of colour play. The pendant setting and 18" necklace are both made of solid sterling silver. We had the necklace appraised by a gemologist with the necklace. The opal is described in the appraisal as follows:
